Not even hospital beds, broken bones, and head wounds can keep Dan from talking to our customers
So today, I’m going to get a little more personal than usual here.
The story goes like this… (sorry if you’ve already heard it)
Yep… Right before Christmas, Dan was forced to make a trip to the ER.
You see, he’d busted himself up pretty good, breaking bones in his wrist, chipping some others, and needing staples in his head from a laceration.
You know… just ordinary injuries you’d see after someone falls off a roof, right?
Everyone knows that climbing on roofs is inherently dangerous work!
Think about it… with more than 35 years of climbing ladders and working up high on steep roofs – it was bound to happen eventually.
But in this case, it’s not what you think.
Dan’s injuries weren’t caused by falling off a ladder or a roof.
In fact, he wasn’t even working!
He was getting shelves for our kitchen, loading ‘em in the back of the truck, and slipped off the bumper…
Not from 30 feet up on a roof – but only a foot and a half down off his truck.
Unfortunately, it still did some damage, as you can see from the picture.
But I also want to point out another important fact here.
Even though he’s laying in a hospital bed with a sling, and in pain, the other thing you can see from the picture is that he’s actually on his phone returning a call from a client!
Talk about being responsible and responsive! (and yea… maybe a little stubborn)
That’s Dan! No excuses for not returning phone calls from him.
UPDATE: No major damage was done, everything will eventually heal, and he’s improving day by day.
And oh yea…
The moral of this story is: If you choose to do your own work, please be careful and safe when you’re on any ladder, your roof, or even your truck’s bumper. You never know when your time to fall is coming. It can happen to anybody!
Don’t be like Dan… -:)

I only met him once, but remember him as both kind and professional. I hope he heals quickly and completely.
Awwww….poor Dan….I am so sorry to hear this……even though it was bad,I guess it could have been worse….hope he recovers quickly
And that being said that is why he did my work and not me and a bunch of friends or something
Of course Dan was returning a customer call – that’s the responsiveness and dependability of On Top Home Improvements!
