Metal roof shingles that look like asphalt or tile?

When it’s time for a new roof, the fact is most people will replace the shingles with the same old traditional asphalt shingle.

A small percentage will prefer slate, tile, shakes.

And there’s also a few that want to replace their asphalt shingles with metal roofs.

But up until recently, the only metal roof you could get was an interlocking, vertical standing seam style. All you had to do was choose the color.

And the vertical metal seam roof is, to be blunt, pretty plain looking.

Vertical Seam MEtal Roof
This standard vertical seam metal roof isn’t the only option in metal roofs on the market now!

So… Fast forward to pretty recently…

Now if you want to reap the benefits of a metal roof compared to asphalt shingles (such as lifespan, durability, strength, and maintenance), there are options to the metal vertical seam roof that look much more like traditional shingles or tiles, but are actually stamped metal.

And yep… there are some pretty cool options, designs, and colors that will look beautiful on any home, in any neighborhood.

I can’t put pictures of metal shingles (even though they look cool) on here because of copyright issues.

So to give you an idea of what they look like, here’s a link to a company called Tamko  that manufactures different styles.

Just scroll down a little to the links to their MetalWorks Steel Shingle line to get an idea of what’s available on the market now.

So as you can see, there really ARE metal roofs that look very much like regular shingles!

FYI… Most of the roofs we do use asphalt shingles, but we have installed metal roofs for clients. We just haven’t used metal shingle products yet.
